Scarsdale High School Choir: “From Darkness into the Light” at the Scarsdale Women’s Club.

Directed by Amanda K. Gundling and accompanied by pianist Dr. Irena Portenko, the Scarsdale High School Choir will perform a choral concert titled “From Darkness into the Light." The concert will open with Dies Irae (Day of Wrath) arranged by modern American Composer Michael John Trotta from his Requiem based on a 13th century Gregorian chant. The program selections will also include songs from Broadway musicals and familiar contemporary songwriters. Each musical selection will inspire us to overcome darkness, even in the midst of challenges and adversity, to show strength and gratitude. The selection of songs presents layers of light and positivity leading us towards a hopeful reflection and celebration of the recent holiday season.
